Power Pink

Forget orange, this season, pink is the new black. The range of girlie shades has gone viral for spring/summer 2017 and it looks like it’s planning on sticking around during fall/winter 2017 too.

Seen on the runway

During the SS17 runways there was no escaping the abundance of pink hues. While the hyper-sweet colour tones are usually associated with excessively cute style choices, designers collectively proved thinking pink can work empowering too. By incorporating the pretty hue in head-to-toe looks, ruched and tulle dresses pink evolved into a statement that successfully embraces all its feminine connotations and uses them as strength rather than an outdated stereotype.

Translated to the street

Top to toe pink looks may sound like a challenge, but you’d be surprised by the effortless wearability of this monochromatic silhouette. While an androgynous pink suit is the easiest power dressing trick, printed and flirty dresses easily measure up. Combine your pretty in pink outfit with a flat shoe for a polished on-the-go look or elevate it with a sleek and sophisticated heel.
