The holiday mode

It’s hard to pull off an abundance of colours in a way that doesn’t completely overwhelm, but Dodo Bar Or seems to do it well. The eponymous label under creative direction of Israeli designer Dodo Bar Or reveals its free-spirited nature through unfussy materials and muted shades for SS18. While red and blue stripes take the lead and play the colourblocking game as if they were fashioned to do just that, shades of off-white allow the collection to breathe. The label’s signature ethnic aesthetic is translated into pieces that instantly put you in a holiday state of mind: calm, relaxed and – most of all – ready to venture out and explore what the season has on offer. With its tassel detailing, the collection draws upon the designer’s Middle Eastern heritage. Complemented by loose cuts, cropped lengths and layered designs, Dodo Bar Or proves to be anything but a one-way street. While the silhouettes lend itself to effortless getaway-friendly dressing, they just as easily can be used to layer up for colder weather without compromising on its inviting and overall exciting off-duty appeal.

While surrounded by the most innovative shapes and silhouettes we’ve seen in years, we gravitate towards classics such as the nautical theme to ease our mind.
