Indian summer approaches and warm, earthy tones slowly but surely find their way back into our wardrobe. On the other hand, crisp blues and grey hues unravel pre-fall's cooler side. The challenge lies in finding a sartorial balance between reminiscing on breezy summer days and taking the style industry by storm, by investing in avant-garde autumn pieces. Stylist Zoë Hordies:
'Delicate, silky midi dresses are worn with a bare leg and printed socks, merging some leftover summer feel with an autumnal warm up. Pull your socks up to knee height or opt for a sagged look right above the ankle. Add ton-sur-ton footwear to create a coherent whole and elongate the lower leg.'

Stylist Christine Van Laer:
'Colour coordination also manifests itself in dressing, as there is an abundance of elegant two-pieces to be adopted as part of your day-to-day wardrobe. Whether it's colour, print or fabric, mixing two of the same into one is this season's secret to an innovative style shift.'
