Collection spring/summer 2018
Simone Rocha’s spring/summer 2018 collection fully embodies and further develops the designer’s enchanting dreaminess. This time around, her whims and fancies are found in childhood playtime, the models looking distinctly doll-like with rosy cheeks and ensembles that have an Edwardian feel. The clothes allude to a playful innocence, but they are far from from delicate. Rocha experimented with volume for rebellious yet elegant results, with sizeable puffed sleeves, tulle skirts and ruched gathering. Her careful rebellion continues through intricate handwork with beaded adornment and singular red embroideries of children holding hands. Victorian floral patterns pair gracefully with pop-art-like flowers in vivid orange and red. Once again the designer turns the frivolous into cutting-edge femininity, which makes getting dolled up attractive once again for the modern woman.
