About the designer

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez met each other while studying at Parsons School of Design in New York. Their senior collection was the first collection they created as Proenza Schouler. When Barneys immediately placed an order on that collection and Vogue shot it shortly after, the two knew they couldn’t ignore the signs and decided it would be the start of their own label. Along the way they learned how to not just design styles, but create a narrative within each collection.

Collection spring/summer 2018

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez left their inspiring hometown of New York to present their SS18 collection in Paris during Haute Couture Week. The show embodied an evening high-fashion feel yet retained an American attitude. Ruffled dresses, halter tops and skirts were deconstructed by midriff cut-outs and dramatic front slits. The overall black and white silhouettes were brightened with poppy red looks, featuring a knitted peplum top paired with a leather bra top, a low waist knit skirt and a floral jacquard coat. Blazer jackets with statement shoulders topped flared lace trousers. The floral patterns, lace and feathers lent the silhouettes a romantic feel whereas the pointed flats and glimpses of skin let this collection make a sophisticated Parisian entrance.
