Collection spring/summer 2018
This season, Miuccia Prada charmed with her empowering SS18 collection. Utilitarian silhouettes with kitten heels spearheaded the lineup, with ‘layering’ being the key word to the opening ensembles. Crisp shirts were worn under strapless tops and loose-fitting floral dresses, with studded accessories offsetting the sweetness of the delicate prints. As red and black peaked collars punctuated the show, bespoke coats were revamped into sartorial styles that featured rolled-up sleeves and deconstructed finishes. A more casual approach was taken mid-show, when neat blazers were paired with bright socks last seen in the Eighties. Prints came out to play in a layered silhouette that featured a dress adorned with no less than four prints, paired with classic black trousers and party-perfect brogues. As Prada wouldn’t be Prada without an eccentric goodbye, long skirts and printed dresses oozed an ornate femininity toward the finale. A comic book-printed maxi number left us craving for more.
