Collection autumn/winter 2017
As seen on the runway at No.21, a new feminine, American spirit is here for fall. Alessandro Dell’Acqua looked to Italian fashion muse Anna Magnani for inspiration at the dawn of his creations and blended her with a new-fangled Sylvia Plath. At the same time, Dell'Acqua let a tailored post–New Look Italian Catholic aesthetic combine with American varsity style.Textures and colours teamed up to sing an authentic and empowering melody, seasoned with statement hosiery. Contrasts all around, but sensibly balanced out in tune with the overarching Transatlantic theme. Soft power-dressing staples and flourishing colours such as rusty apricot, baby blue and red, contributed to a revival of dressing up, while chiffon dresses and loosely fitting sweaters were alternated with herringbone suiting, and skirts slightly embellished with Swarovski crystals and studs.
