Collection spring/summer 2018
Marc Jacobs has always had an explicit fashion formula: ' to have fun'. This season, the designer paid homage to his repertoire of youthful collections, reworking them for a contemporary cool. Elegance came in excess with extreme proportions; the blazers looked like they’d fit the model twice, the sleeves and trousers were puffed power moves, and the amount of fabric often seemed endless. Exotic influences were in overflow with psychedelic patterns in vivid hues and bright bird-like collars. A distinct urban confidence found its place in Jacob's spin of current street wear staples like fanny packs and slippers, given a high-class upgrade with decadent evening gowns. The models wore chic silky turbans that were designed by Stephen Jones and which were an ode to Kate Moss’s iconic Met Gala ensemble.
