About the designer


From the time it was founded in 1925 until today, the Fendi house is known for its outstanding designs and glamourous Italian fashion. Adele Casagrande opened a fur and leather goods shop in Rome, which she later named after her husband Edoardo Fendi. As soon as they were old enough, the Fendis five daughters joined the company and contributed to the success of the house.
In 1965, Karl Lagerfeld joined as Creative Director and in 1994 Silvia Venturini Fendi, granddaughter of Adele and Edoardo, became Creative Director for Accessories and Men’s lines.

Collection autumn/winter 2017

For the family-run Fendi, fur and coats have been part of the DNA for 90 years, a cherished heritage creative director Karl Lagerfeld continuously manages to give an elegant twist. In this collection, grown-up coats in grey herringbone, classic camel wool, black leather and even red fur, made their way down the catwalk paired with bright red leather boots. Indispensable Mink fur cuffs completed the looks, while leaf-printed and sheer dresses, cropped jumpers and cut-out silhouettes added lightness. As creative director for the accessories, granddaughter Silvia Venturini Fendi presented vintage-style Fendi bags detailed with a double F-logo.
