About the designer

From the time it was founded in 1925 until today, the Fendi house is known for its outstanding designs and glamourous Italian fashion. Adele Casagrande opened a fur and leather goods shop in Rome, which she later named after her husband Edoardo Fendi. As soon as they were old enough, the Fendis five daughters joined the company and contributed to the success of the house.
In 1965, Karl Lagerfeld joined as Creative Director and in 1994 Silvia Venturini Fendi, granddaughter of Adele and Edoardo, became Creative Director for Accessories and Men’s lines.

Collection spring/summer 2018

Fur and coats have been part of the Fendi DNA for over ninety years, a cherished heritage creative director Karl Lagerfeld continuously manages to give an elegant twist. For the spring/summer 2018 collection Lagerfeld translated these style elements into an offering of leather pencil and A-line skirts, belted dresses and striped and checked mink fur coats. Other silhouettes revealed bare shoulders on so-termed cold shoulder dresses, knits and open-worked ruffle blouses. The multicolour collection was characterised by emerald green, and various shades of blue highlighted the neutrals hues. Silhouettes were covered in stripes, sometimes showcased in transparent layers where the accentuated waists added a powerful elegance.
