Collection spring/summer 2018
The Australian designer Kym Ellery crafts garments that empower the intelligent and independent woman. The spring/summer 2018 cleverly infuses an avant-garde allure into wearable and chic staples. Notable in this season's offering is the unusual mix of fabrics, with flimsy plastics, stiff cotton, lustrous latex and party-wear sequins taking centre stage. The designs dialled up the drama with extreme proportions. Overcoats and blazers were strikingly oversized with structured shoulders, sleeves that elegantly flared out and the trousers that had more than ample volume. The masterful cuts had a distinct retro vibe, with sleek turtlenecks, large pointed collars, velvet suiting and modish flared jeans.
