About the designer

Luxury brand Coach was founded in 1941 in the heart of New York City. A family-owned business at the time, the label crafted high-end leather accessories before maturing into the full ready-to-wear house that it is today. Coach’s rich and authentic heritage exudes a sense of effortless street style while remaining classic and chic in the core of it all.

The all-American brand chose an all-British creative direction in the shape of Stuart Vevers, who became Executive Creative Director in 2013 after years of leading the creative teams at Loewe and Mulberry. Before that, the designer was already constructing his impressive resume, with successful stints at Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta shaping his career for years to come.

Collection autumn/winter 2017

Creative director Stuart Vevers let his models wander between a prairie grass field presenting the AW17 collection. The silhouettes breathed a nostalgic vibe fusing Seventies and Eighties elements with a touch of a subtle grunge. The standout pieces were the coats, presenting brown hued shearling coats and jackets, leather biker and varsity jackets often accentuated with detachable tasselled fur collars and all over patchwork. Oversized puffer coats showcased a vintage floral print adding to the Seventies allure whereas plaid dresses lend a hint of grunge.
