About the designer

Luxury brand Coach was founded in 1941 in the heart of New York City. A family-owned business at the time, the label crafted high-end leather accessories before maturing into the full ready-to-wear house that it is today. Coach’s rich and authentic heritage exudes a sense of effortless street style while remaining classic and chic in the core of it all.

The all-American brand chose an all-British creative direction in the shape of Stuart Vevers, who became Executive Creative Director in 2013 after years of leading the creative teams at Loewe and Mulberry. Before that, the designer was already constructing his impressive resume, with successful stints at Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta shaping his career for years to come.

Collection spring/summer 2018

Coach has come along way since its days of crafting luxurious leather goods, now injecting a hint of punk into its preppy allure. Keith Haring inspired the spring/summer 2018 collection but not in the crisp, radiant and pop-arty way the artist is known for. Instead, his influence evoked a downtown Eighties party feel and employed Haring's signature scribbles as prints. The collection rebelled with luxe metallic material and did not spare on sequins, adorning anything from varsity knits to biker jackets and jeans and turning the cow-girl aesthetic into an after-hours special. The brand's devotion to Americana came through in patchwork denim, homespun prairie slip dresses and college bombers.
