About the designer
Colombian-born Edgardo Osorio fell in love with shoes as a little boy playing with his mother’s heels. After moving to London at 16 to attend the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, Osorio soon made another move and dropped out to accept a job offer as a shoes and accessories designer at Salvatore Ferragamo, Tuscany. Still studying intermittently at Polimoda, Osorio went on to work for other luxury brands, such as Roberto Cavalli, where he was appointed head of shoes at the age of 23. After ten years of designing for other brands, Osorio decided to make his dream come true by creating his own line of glamorous, elegant shoes.
With a name that comes from the Italian word for blue water, headquarters in Florence and gold pineapple logo that serves as a lucky charm at the sole of your feet, Osorio’s love for Italy is found within every detail of the Aquazzura brand. Driven by the idea of creating shoes that make women feel beautiful and can dance in all night, Aquazzura’s second-skin shoes are at the epitome of modern sophistication.
